Guwahati, March 24: Trading his guns on AIUDF supremo Badruddin Ajmal, NEDA convenor and Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Ajmal will set up Madrasa’s in Assam to produce Mullahs instead of opening engineering colleges and Universities if their party comes to power.

Addressing a poll rally for Lahowal BJP candidate Binod Hazarika at Lahowal in Dibrugarh, Sarma said, “If the Grand alliance government come to power they will set up Madrasa’s in Assam and if our government voted to power we will open engineering colleges and Universities to produce good doctors and engineers. So, you decide to whom you will vote this time,”.

Taking a dig at Congress-AIUDF grand alliance, Sarma said Congress tied up with AIUDF to came into power in Dispur.

“In last five years, BJP have done lots of development in Assam which Congress could not done in their 15 years rule. During 15 years Congress rule in Assam, they were involved in petty politics but in last five years enough changes can be seen in Assam,” Sarma said.

Praising Lahowal MLA Rituparna Baruah, Sarma said Rituparna had done lots of development in Lahowal with his dedicated effort but this time high command has given the ticket to Chabua MLA Binod Hazarika from Lahowal.

“We want blessings from you people. If our government comes to power then more developmental works will come up in Lahowal because both Rituparna and Binod will work for the people. Earlier, if 100 percent works happened in Lahowal from now 200 percent work will happen in Lahowal,” Sarma said.
