IFFI’s feature film section to open with first-ever Dimasa language film ‘Semkhor’

Shillong, Nov 6: The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has announced the selection of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films for the Indian Panorama section of its 52nd edition in Goa.

The festival’s ‘Indian Panorama feature film’ section will open with the Semkhor, the first-ever Dimasa language film directed by Aimee Baruah, a renowned actress of Assam, the Ministry of Information, and Broadcasting announced on November 5.

Altogether four films from Assam made it to the list, including Sijou, a film in the Bodo language, Boomba Ride in the Mishing language, and ‘Veerangana’.

Notably, the list of selected 25 feature films in the Indian Panorama 2021 includes five Bengali, four Kannada, five Malayalam, and two Hindi films.

The selected films will be screened during the film festival to be held from November 20-28, 2021 in Goa.
