IFS officers undergo training on forensic to deal with wildlife crimes

Guwahati, Feb 19: A mandatory one-week training course for Indian Forest Service officers titled “The Significance of Forensics in Combating Wildlife Crime and its Contribution to Wildlife Conservation” took place at the College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, Khanapara, Guwahati in February 19th. This training course will continue till February 23rd.

This course is funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (RT), Government of India, New Delhi. Twelve IFS officers from various regions participated in this intensive seven-day training program.

Dr. Bibeka Saikia, Dean of the faculty, inaugurated the training session and extended a warm welcome to all attendees. Dr. M.K. Yadava, IFS Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Head of Forest Force, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Mr. Bishan Singh Bonal, former Additional Director and Member Secretary of the National Tiger Conservation Authority, New Delhi, attended as the guest of honor. Dr kushal Konwar sarma offered the vote of thanks. The inagural session ended with the national anthem.
