Dibrugarh, April 11: The Police Dept of Dribugargh on Sunday busted a illegal Aadhar card centre at Paltan Bazar in Dibrugarh.
Three persons were detained in this connection. They have been identified as Dipen Doley(29), Bitupan Deori(27) and Aibi Deori(30) of Lakhimpur.
“After getting specific information about the functioning of an illegal Aadhar card centre at Paltan Bazar area of Dibrugarh. We have conducted a search operation and fond three persons operating a illegal Aadhar card centre in the area at the resident of Atiquor Rahman. We have detained three persons in connection with the case and three more persons were picked up for investigation,” said officer in charge of Dibrugarh police station Rajiv Saikia.
Saikia said, “We have seized desktop, laptops, Aadhar forms and cash worth Rs 5000 from the possession of the persons. They took Rs 300 each for making Aadhar cards. We have also seized a Tata Nixon car bearing registration no (AR 01M 8130). We are investigating the case and very soon we will crackdown against all illegal Aadhar centre operating in Dibrugarh,”.
Sources said many illegal Aadhar centres are operating in Assam and they are making huge money through this illegal centres.
“Many peoples come here for making Aadhar card. They have taken the house as a rent and for many days they were operating from here,” a local resident said.
