Tura, July 29: After a four-day hiatus due to the Section 144 CrPC restrictions imposed by the district administration in Tura, the eagerly anticipated Inter-Mahari Football Tournament resumed with fervour at the Chandmari football field in Tura, West Garo Hills.
The two thrilling matches played on Saturday captivated the enthusiastic audience.
The first face-off featured Chisim against Wa.tre Mahari, where Chisim players showcased extraordinary talent, netting an impressive 8 goals against their opponents, who couldn’t manage to score any. The final score at the sound of the whistle stood at 8-0 in favour of Chisim.
The second match, a clash between Dawa and A.we Maharis, proved to be an enthralling display of sportsmanship. Both teams exhibited remarkable skill, each scoring 2 goals by the end of full-time play. The intensity persisted during the tie-breaker, resulting in a draw between the teams. The excitement heightened during the sudden-death round, wherein A.we Mahari unfortunately failed to score, securing Dawa Mahari’s triumph as the ultimate winners of the match.
Fans and players alike rejoiced at the tournament’s resumption, relishing the competitive spirit and camaraderie displayed on the field.
