Jowai, Sept 12: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) Ri-loom Jaiñtia informed that it has received many complaints pertaining to the poor healthcare infrastructure like hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and Sub-Centers in Jaiñtia Hills and that it will conduct an inspection of these Health Care Centers in the coming days. The JAC also informed that complaints were also received pertaining to the expensive bills especially from those undergoing treatment for COVID-19 and that it had informed that it will soon check whether the bills are calculated as per the rates laid down by the state government for private hospitals.
The Committee also expressed its concern pertaining to the unavailability of X-rays, scanning machines, medicines and various tests at government hospitals and health centers thereby compelling people to visit private clinics which in turn affect people, especially during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
At the same time, the JAC also questioned why the Government isn’t able to replenish the requirements of these government hospitals.
