Shillong, Feb 17: Minister in-charge Health James Sangma has ruled out further ease in the Covid-19 curbs at the current juncture.
“Right now we are not thinking of that right now. Whatever relaxations that we have given are in view of the fact that the number of cases are coming down,” Sangma said while replying to a query if more relaxations are on the cards in view of the drop in cases.
Giving an update on the current Covid-19 scenario in the State, the Health Minister said, “We can see that cases are very much under control and we have relaxed norms.”
“We are hopeful that cases will slowly normalize and we will be able to get back to normalcy without any more without spikes,” he added.
On the criticism from the leader of the opposition Dr Mukul Sangma over the handling of COVID situation, the Health Minister said Mukul should respect the hard work and sacrifice put in by the doctors and health workers.
