Shillong, June 14: Jirang MLA Sosthenos Sohtun on Monday felicitated Sohan Thapa of New Era Secondary School, Mawsmai, who secured 15th position in the MBOSE’s SSLC examination, the results of which were declared on June 10, 2022.

The MLA awarded Sohan with cash prize and a laptop.

The New Era Secondary School was established in the year 2003 in Mawsmai. Despite facing many challenges and being shorthanded on critical infrastructure as classrooms, classroom equipment, the school has produced capable and intelligent students, with Thapa being the best example who secured the 15th rank in the whole state with distinction in 5 subjects, 100 marks in Science and also securing highest marks in Nepali subject from the whole State.
