Tura, May 5: Neev Sharma, a student of Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section, Tura, has secured the 4th position in the Arts stream of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination 2025, conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE), with a total score of 448 marks.
Overflowing with gratitude, Neev described the achievement as both unexpected and humbling. “I never expected this much from myself,” he said. “It’s the result of hard work and the unwavering support from my teachers, professors, parents, especially my mother and father and everyone who believed in me, even when I doubted myself.”

Neev credited his success to consistent preparation, focusing on mastering the basics. “I studied for about five to seven hours a day. I believe that strong fundamentals are the key. If your basics are clear, you can write well and understand even complex topics. Also, never ignore the small details—they often show up in exams,” he shared.
The 4th rank holder now plans to pursue BA LLB in Bangalore, a path inspired by his grandfather, whom he described as his biggest source of motivation. “Watching him achieve his goals gave me the confidence to chase my own,” he said.
Offering words of encouragement to his juniors, Neev urged them to remain resilient. “Don’t let one failure define you. Be your own motivation. Even if society overlooks your efforts, keep moving forward. Set your goals high and don’t lose heart.”
