Kansing Lyngshiang quits Congress, expected to join NPP

Shillong, Oct 21: President of the Mawkynrew Block Congress Committee (MBCC) Kansing Lyngshiang on Friday quit the party citing personal reasons.

Lyngshiang submitted his resignation before the Congress president Vincent H Pala.

Meanwhile, sources informed that Lyngshiang is all set to join the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) on October 26.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong will be addressing a rally at Jongksha and will announce Lyngshiang as the official candidate of the party from Mawkynrew constituency.

Lyngshiang will be contesting against PDF legislator and cabinet minister Banteidor Lyngdoh in the upcoming 2023 elections.
