Shillong, Feb 2: Social Welfare Minister Kyrmen Shylla has expressed concerns over the involvement of a juvenile in the recent IED blast at Police Bazar in Shillong, the commercial centre of Meghalaya.

“It is sad to see an underage be part of a militant group. It is if any age group can be part of any illegal activities especially to be part of a terrorist group which will at the end bring only disturbance to the livelihood of the people,” he said.

He also lashed out at the militant outfits, referring to HNLC, for engaging underage kids to carry out illegal activities without thinking about their future.

“It’s very sad to say that these groups (militants) are not thinking about the future of those children because when they appoint them, they spoil their life, their carrier everything,” he said.

“The police department is trying their level best, it is because of their swift action and inteligence the culprits involved in the IED blast incident have been nabbed,” added Shylla.

The Minister also urged the youth of the State to refrain from all these activities as it will destroy their entire life.

On asked, Shylla said that the Social Welfare department will dig deep to find out why the youth are involving in such activities and will hopefully find a solution.
