Lafarge donates Covid relief materials to Sohra SDO

Shillong, June 7: In order to assist in the fight against corona pandemic, with emphasis on the rising cases in Sohra Civil Sub-Division, the Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited has has donated 100 full body PPE Kits, 350 N-95 masks, 200 gloves and 2 disinfectant sprayers to the Community Corona-care Center (CCC) at Sohra on June 04.

Receiving the materials from the representatives of Lafarge, the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO), Alexander S Mukhim thanked LUMPL for their support towards the setting up of the Corona Care Center in the civil sub division.

He further stated that the safety materials donated by Lafarge would go a long way in ensuring the health and safety of the health workers, doctors and nurses who will be manning the Corona Care Centre in the region.

In continuation with its support towards health care as part of the company’s community engagement initiatives, Lafarge had also earlier donated 4 oxygen cylinders to Shella PHC and 2 Oxygen Cylinders to the Nongtrai Dispensary to ensure that the two villages are equipped to handle COVID-19 crisis in the two communities.
