SHILLONG, JUNE 24: A local court in the state has sentenced a man to five years and three months imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl and imposed a fine of Rs 3,000.
Identified as Ferdinus Marbaniang, the offender was found guilty and convicted U/S 10 POCSO Act by the Court of Special Judge (POCSO Act) on June 21.
Marbaniang had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl, FIR of which was filed with the Rynjah police station on May 24, 2015.
A case was registered and was endorsed to WPSI/ K.D. Sangma who after investigation charges sheeted the case on March 8, 2016.
