Shillong, Mar 10: Janata Dal (United) has won the Tipaimukh seat in Manipur. JD(U) candidate Ngursanglur Sanate defeated his nearest rival Chalton Lien Amo of BJP by a margin of 1249 votes.
Meanwhile, BJP continues to lead in 29 seats, followed by Congress in 10 seats, NPP in 9 seats.
Kuki People’s Alliance (KPA) was leading in one seat and Naga People’s Front (NPF) was leading in 6 seats while JD(U) was ahead in 1 seat as well.
Manipur Chief Minister and BJP leader N. Biren Singh was leading his closest rival by over 2500 votes in the Heingang constituency. Former CM and Congress leader Okram Ibobi Singh was leading in Thoubal by 1225 votes.
