Must read

Imphal, Feb 26: Kuki National Organisation(KNO), militant group of Manipur extended support to all BJP candidates for the upcoming 12th Manipur Assembly elections.

KNO appealed to all chiefs, CSO leaders and all voters to support BJP candidates in all KNO operational areas. Any person or organisation acting contray to this appeal will be deemed acting against Kuki interest.

“In the line with the ongoing political dialouge between KNO and government of India, the central government and the ruling BJP leadership have promised Swift settlement of Kuki political aspirations. Union home minister Amit Shahji have announced the same in his public address on 23rd February,2022 at Churachandpur public ground,” said KNO in a statement.

On the other hand, Congress urged ECI to take action against the KNO for giving threat to the people in conducting free and fair elections in Manipur.

“It blantantly intimidates people to vote for BJP holding out dire consequences to those who will not follow it instructions. We urged ECI to take urgent note of this deliberate, dangerous and diabolic statement that violates the model code of conduct,” the Congress stated in a statement.

“Aap Chronology Samjihye

25.02.22: Banned outfit Kuki National Organisation issues a statement supporting BJP & threatening voters. It’s a blatant violation of Model Code of Conduct. ECI MUST intervene!,” tweeted Jairam Ramesh, congress leader and AICC senior observer of Manipur.

The two-phased elections for the 60-member Manipur Assembly will be held on February 28 and March 5.
