Sangma, who reached Imphal on Thursday for a four-day campaign, also launched party’s campaign for Manipur polls where watchers believe NPP is emerging as the dark horse.
In 2017, NPP contested in only nine seats in which it won 4 seats and emerged as king maker as without NPP support BJP could not have been able to form a coalition Government.
Among the nine people given party tickets in the third list is the name of BJP MLA from Wangkhei Y Erobot Singh, who was denied BJP ticket.Addressing the party leaders and workers, Sangma said “The NPP is getting its right place and its due and today the people of Manipur are accepting it and we are the fastest growing National party and the only national party from Northeast, which is made by people of northeast for the people of northeast. With so many good candidates we are ready to take on the other bigger national parties and the traction that we are getting clearly suggests that we would lead Manipur this time.”
