“We really appreciate the good works that you all have done to us and will always remember it,” Joyshelman D Sangma, MeASA’s President, COA, CAU, Imphal, said in the letter.

It can be recalled that due to the recent widespread ethnic riots in Manipur, the students from Meghalaya studying in Imphal were stranded. Realising the situation was going from bad to worse, Meghalaya Government immediately began evacuation of its students and citizens from the State. In the 5-day operation, Meghalaya govt evacuated 242 students and citizens from Manipur.
