Meghalaya CM and interlocutor for HNLC peace talks hold closed-door meeting

Shillong, Apr 1: A closed door meeting between the Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and government appointed interlocutor Peter Dkhar for peace talks with HNLC was held on Friday.

The meeting was also attended by Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, Chief Secretary Rebecca Suchiang, Special DGP I. Nongrang.

While the Home Minister refused to comment much, he mentioned that it was on the prevailing law and order situation.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that it was normal process and peace talks have to continue.

“We have been clear from day one that every meeting doesn’t have a conclusion, it is just a process. The government is committed and ensuring continuous communication is carried out for peace talks,” said Sangma.
