Shillong, April 19: The state government will soon put in place a roster system for implementing the job reservation policy. Informing this on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that the state government is still working out the matter and will take a call very soon.

He said the chief secretary and other officials of the government are on the job to ensure the system is put in place.

The Meghalaya High Court had recently passed an order which stayed all recruitment processes of the state government until a roster system is put in place.

When asked, Tynsong said, “Don’t ask about 50 years back. Even the boundary issue, if you ask about 50 years back again back to square one so forget about it. Time goes on and we will meet whatever requirement we will try our best to make sure that the system is in place be it from judicial scrutiny or be it from the executive at least once that is done everything will be safe for everybody.”

“Once the paperwork is done, let the cabinet sit down. Once that is finalized we will again go back to the high court in the form of an affidavit,” he added.
