Shillong, Oct 27: The Meghalaya Power Lifting and Fitness Association (MPLFA), affiliated with Power Lifting India, has pleaded for sponsorship for their players to participate in Power Lifting National Competition in Goa.
Briefing the media personnel on Wednesday, Powerlifting member stated that this is the second time the Association has sent players to the Power Lifting National Competition at Goa, and on both occasions the Association received little to no financial aid from the Meghalaya government. So the players had to be backed by the family members and the association members.
The championship will be held from November 16 to 25, 2021.
The Meghalaya Power Lifting and Fitness Association on Wednesday also submitted a proposal to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya seeking financial aid.
All participants are local youth from different districts selected from the District Competition held at Umsning early this year.
The players include: Everson Kharbih Khiew, Anasthaius Ryndongsngi, Tyngshain Kupar Mawlong, Jonathan Hynniewta, D. Frankie H. Nongrum, Jordan J. Hynniewta, Donald Rymbai, Angel Mary Mylliem Umlong, Daphisa Nongsiej, and Hilarious Kharbihkhiew.
The Meghalaya Power Lifting and Fitness Association is affiliated to Power India, which is recognized by Ministry of Youth and Sports Affair, Government of India, International Power lifting Federation, Asian Power Lifting Federation.
