Meghalaya’s Muay Thai fighters win 4 medals at 3rd Amateur Muay Thai Championship in Manipur

Shillong, Dec 02: The All Meghalaya Muay Thai Association (AMMTA) has brought laurels to the State by winning several medals at the Manipur Sangai Festival 3rd Amateur Muay Thai Championship 2022.

AMMTA, which was founded by Samuel Hashah in 2016, participated in the Manipur Sangai Festival 3rd Amateur Muay Thai Championship which was held on November 28 – 29, 2022. The championship is recognized by the Manipur Olympic Association (MOA) under the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in which participants from the State of Meghalaya came out with flying colours. The Meghalaya team secured 4 medals in total.

“This is a moment of pride for the people of Meghalaya. Whenever we participate in any championship we have never returned empty handed but have always come back with flying colours,” mentioned AMMTA president Samuel Hashah.

Winners of the Manipur Sangai Festival 3rd Amateur Muay Thai Championship 2022 include Shanbor Kurbah (under 45-50kgs) along with Kordor Rynjah (45-48kgs) winning gold medals, Royal Son Lapang winning silver in under 48-51kgs category, and Labiangliang Thawbri winning the bronze medal in 68-71kgs category.

Thailand was also one of the International Country that took part in the Manipur Sangai Festival 3rd Amateur Muay Thai Championship 2022.
