Aizawl, Jan 3: Joining the rest of the nation in fighting against the Coronavirus pandemic, Mizoram on Monday launched the vaccination drive for adolescents aged 15-18 years of age.

The vaccine drive offical started at Presbyterian Church Girls’ School in Aizawl. It is to be mentioned here that the vaccine being used to inoculate the adolescents is Covaxin.

The vaccine is currently being administred only in Aizawl district while it will be rolled out to other districts in 2-3 days.

The state will be administering around 1 to 1.5 lakhs of Covaxin. 67,000 doses of the vaccine reached Aizawl on December 30, 2021.

The second dose of Covaxin will be administered after a 28- day interval.

The vaccination drive will be carried out intensively in every locality of all districts in Mizoram.
