Nagaland: 18 BSF jawans injured in bus accident in Woka

Dimapur, Jan 6: At least 18 jawans of Border Security Force (BSF) were injured after their bus met with an accident in Nagaland’s Woka on Thursday.

According to sources, the bus, having capacity of 42 seats, lost its control and fell into a deep gorge. Altogether 41 BSF jawans were inside the bus when the accident took place in Woka district of Nagaland.

The 62nd Battalion of BSF was travelling in the 42-seater bus.

“The bus lost control and fell around 50-60 feet below hills, stuck there between trees. The SSB convoy was behind the bus. The SSB personnel immediately started rescue operation and uplifted all 41 personnel stuck inside bus to the road upside and first aid was provided to them,” said a police official.

Critically injured personnel were identified and shifted to the nearest PHC and district hospital by vehicles that were used in convoy movement. “A total of 18 jawans were injured and are under treatment at Wokha district hospital,” said the police official.
