Tura, Jan 5: The New Year has been ushered in with a fresh batch of covid cases in the Garo Hills region with as many as 20 new active cases being reported from Garo Hills region on Wednesday.

The total active cases now stand at 20 as of Wednesday.

Out of the 20 active cases 9 are new positive cases detected from Tura and Dalu.

4 new positive cases are from Tura Civil Hospital – 3 RT-PCR (Contacts), 1 Antigen (Asymptomatic), 1 positive case from Chandmary Testing Centre (Antigen, Symptomatic) and 4 other positive cases from Dalu CHC (Antigen, 3 Returnees, 1 Symptomatic).

The places where they are isolated (Active cases, excluding the recovered) are three positive cases inside Tura Civil Hospital and 17 others in home isolation.

The total Recovered cases stands at 7323.

It is to be noted that 1 recovered on Wednesday from Home Isolation.
