Guwahati, April 21: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Friday said there is no crisis in the state BJP.
On Friday, the party had convened a meeting of the leaders in Imphal. Some MLAs had not attended the meeting.
Recently, three BJP MLAs had resigned from different administrative posts hinting at a crisis in the ruling BJP in the state.
Talking to media persons, Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh said, “One minister has taken leave of absence from me. He went to Indore. Three of them are having medical treatment in Delhi. That’s all. There is no crisis in the party and everyone has attended the meeting.”
On Thursday, MLA P Brojen Singh tendered his resignation as chairman of Manipur Development Society. He is the third MLA to quit from such a post in a span of little over a week.
In a letter to the Manipur chief minister, he said, “I tender my resignation from the post of chairman, Manipur Development Society (MDS) due to some personal reasons.”
Recently, BJP legislators Thokchom Radheshyam Singh and Karam Shyam resigned from their respective posts. Both Karam Shyam and Thokchom Radheshyam Singh had served as the ministers in the previous N. Biren Singh led BJP government (2017-2022).
Sources said some leaders are camping in New Delhi to meet Central leaders against CM N Biren Singh.
