SHILLONG, June 24: Environmentalist HH Mohrmen on Thursday joined the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).

Mohrmen, who is also a retired reverend of the Unitarian church and a noted columnist in the state, has announced his decision to contest the upcoming 2023 assembly elections from Jowai, a constituency which is currently being represented by NPP MLA Wailadmiki Shylla.

Taking to twitter, AITC leader and Opposition chief whip George B Lyngdoh welcomed Mohrmen and his leaders to the party fold.

“We heartily welcome Ma H.H. Mohrmen & his leaders to the TMC family. May he flourish in his leadership as he continues to guide & lead people upfront; unitedly we pray for God’s blessings as they fight for our beloved people!” he said.
