NPP’s Nartiang Block welcomes new office bearers, Sniawbhalang stresses on unity

Jowai, Nov 11: The NPP Nartiang Block Committee on Friday organised a meeting to welcome its new office bearers at Iaw Pynsiñ, Wahiajer which was attended by thousands of NPP supporters from the Constituency.

Present during the meeting were MLA of Nartiang and minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, the MLA of Mawhati and minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare, the MLA of Jowai Wailadmiki Shylla, the CEM of JHADC Thombor Shiwat, NPP MDCs from JHADC, amongst others.

The meeting was presided by Hamkom Khynriam, the PresIdent of NPP Nartiang BC, while Sanwotki Laloo, the waheh Chnong of Wahiajer, delivered the welcome address.

Former MLA of Umroi, Ngaitlang Dhar, said, “People say that our family is rich but let me tell you that our family is rich in heart and thus we help people and work for the people with God’s Blessings.”

Wailadmiki Shylla informed that the NPP was formed in the year 2012 and looking at its constitution it seems like it’s an old party and in the last 10 years the party has grown and now it’s recognised as a National Party having MLAs in different states of the Northeast.

He further informed that the party already has 58 candidates who will be contesting the upcoming elections.

Sniawbhalang Dhar thanked Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma who has sanctioned money for umpteen developmental works under Nartiang Constituency.

He stated that the number of SHGs under the previous Congress government are just about 4000 but under the current MDA government, within five years, the number of SHGs has increased to more than 45,000 in the state.

Dhar further reiterated that the NPP is growing day by day and the mantra is ‘unity – working in one team’ unlike other parties which are divided by having 2-3 groups within a single party.

Others who spoke included MDC from Ummulong Moodymmai Jesse Suiam, Damian War the waheh chnong of Namdong B, Bajop Pyngrope the spokesperson of the NPYF, amongst others.
