Nongpoh, Sept 7: The representatives of the Office of Syiem of Hima Jirang and the Sordars of different villages under the Sur ki Paidbah Western Ri Bhoi have slammed the baseless allegations of the Sordar of Patharkhmah for accusing the local MLA of Jirang Constituency for silently collecting the land documents of Hima Jirang and Hima Nongspung ahead of the boundary settlement phase I between Meghalaya and Assam.
Speaking to the Press, Langestar Wahlang, the Assistant Secretary of the Hima Jirang, lambasted the statement of Najim Kharmalki, the Sordar of Patharkhmah, for accusing the MLA of Jirang Constituency of silently taking over the land records and documents of the Hima ahead of the boundary settlement between Assam and Meghalaya.
He also said that the statement was made just to tarnish the prestige of the MLA, and the facts are whenever anyone requires the land documents of villages under the Hima Jirang, the representatives of the Hima will convene the meeting and maintains a register to keep the records properly.
However, the Sordars of different villages of Jirang Constituency under the umbrella of Sur ki Paidbah Western Ri Bhoi, including Lestar Nongphlang, Adviser Western Ri Bhoi Dorbar, Siewdor Syngkli, Sordar of Mawskei Them, Liskonraw Nongtri, representatives Women Social Welfare Patharkhmah stated that the allegations made by the Sordar of Patharkhmah have been made on a personal ground without any real facts.
They also said that Jirang Assembly Constituency within the span of four and half year has witnessed many developmental projects being accomplished by the local MLA which has not been done by the former public representatives. Even Patharkhmah Administrative Unit has received the focus of the state government to upgrade it to Civil Sub Division is due to the hard work and intervention of the MLA, they added.
