Shillong, June 19: Meghalaya police on Saturday arrested one Donlad Shylla, 38 years, on the charges of posting derogatory remarks against the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of East Khasi Hills (EKH) on Facebook which has gone viral on all social media platforms.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger informed that a suo moto case was taken up vide Shillong Sadar Police Station case no. 161(06)2021 U/S 354A (1)(iv)/509 IPC R/w 51(b) DM Act 2005 and registered on 17.06.21 after the comments by Donlad Shylla’s profile against the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Isawanda Laloo went viral.

Accordingly, the Cyber Cell of East Khasi Police was engaged to track the culprit involved in the case.

On Saturday, the Special Cell East Khasi Hills with the assistance of West Jaintia Hills Police nabbed Donlad Shylla at Nongjngi village, West Jaintia Hills.

Nongtnger said Shylla will be produced in court and further investigation is being made to ensure that the case reaches its logical conclusion.
