Shillong, Nov 30: In a tragic accident, one person was injured on Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a car at IGP in Shillong.

The victim has been identified as one Jenti Shira (49), a resident of Motinagar, who was hit by a Maruti 800 car.

Ihe incident occurred around 3 PM when the Maruti Suzuki 800, bearing registration number WB 22U 9510, was travelling from Raj Bhawan towards IGP point when its driver, Wallambok Pohlang, lost control of the vehicle and ramped onto the footpath and hit Shira.

The victim received minor injuries on the head, eyes and right hand, and was taken to Shillong Civil Hospital for treatment.
