Over Rs. 750 cr collected by Meghalaya from minerals in 3 years; Rs. 174 cr given to ADCs

Shillong, Mar 10: Cabinet Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Thursday informed the Assembly that over Rs. 754.06 crore has been collected as revenue from coal and other major minerals in the last three years.

He also shared that the revenue share of State government on coal is 75% while ADCs have a share of 25%, whereas, for other major minerals it is 40% for state government and 60% for ADCs.

He also informed that the total amount entitled to the three ADCs as revenue share during 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 is Rs 174.63 crore.

“The state government has released a total amount of Rs 209.39 crore to the 3 ADCs. The pending amount to be paid is Rs 21.01 crore,” Dhar said while adding that Rs 2 crore is pending for KHADC and Rs 18.18 crore for JHADC.

He also mentioned that advance payment of Rs 55 crore was made to Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).

This was informed by Cabinet Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar while reply to a in the Assembly on Thursday.

To a query raised by AITC legislator from Rangsakona Zenith Sangma regarding the GHADC employees working without salary for the past three years, the minister assured that all pending payments are being processed by the finance deparment and will be released at the earliest.
