Nongpoh, March 21: In a tragic incident in the Ri Bhoi district on Monday, a night super bus carrying around 35-37 passengers overturned on NH-6 near Shangbangla.

The Night Super Bus, with registration number AR-20-9099, was travelling from Guwahati to Silchar when the mishap occurred.

As per reports from local residents, the accident took place due to over-speeding, and the driver lost control of the vehicle at a sharp turn at Shangbangla. The bus toppled over, causing serious injuries to many of the passengers.

The injured were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Nongpoh, where they were given medical attention. The passengers with severe injuries were later transferred to the Shillong Civil Hospital for further treatment.
