Patient provider interaction for TB patients held at Darengre

Tura, Aug 17: The District TB Office of West Garo Hills organised a program called “Patient provider interaction” at Darengre PHC. In the program, the doctors from TB Hospital the DM&HO and Medical Officer interacted with the TB patients of the area. A Total nine patients, ASHA workers and Patients Providers of the area attended the programme.

Dr. Bijay Deb Barma, DM&HO, was the main speaker and the programme was conducted By District Tuberculosis Office, West Garo Hills. Dr. Litha A Sangma. Dr. Yasmin k. Sangma, M&HO Darengre, was also present at the programme.

An interaction between the Doctors & Patients was also held during the programme and Dr. Litha Sangma urged the patients to continue their treatment on time so they can ensure a complete treatment and live a healthy life.

Speaking to the people, the DM&HO explained his experience when he was the District Tuberculosis Officer. He also told them about the do’s and dont’s and cough ethics if a person is positive for TB.

He further informed that if someone wants to check TB, they can avail it free of cost from nearby Health centres. He added that a person can avail free medicines and grants for six months.

The TB pledge was also recited by all the attendees in the program. The programme ended with the distribution of food items which was donated by donors.

Marvelling Sangma is the donors for TB patients for Darengre block, she donated these food items which was distributed by them. Similarly for Tura, Agatha Sangma, MP is a donor, Subir for Rongram & Betasing Block and Akhi Sangma for Dalu Block.
