Poor infrastructure at Baghmara civil hospital comes to fore, poses serious risks to patients

Must read

Baghmara, May 10: The Baghmara civil hospital in South Garo Hills is facing significant infrastructure issues that are causing harm to patients.

The leaking roof and water seepage are leading to slippery floors, resulting in injuries to patients, especially while accessing the toilets. The residential quarters of the hospital are also suffering from the same problem, adding to the woes of the patients.

After receiving complaints about the dire conditions of the hospital, the Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE), A.chik Youth Welfare Organization (AYWO), and Niksamso Garo Community Organization investigated the matter and confirmed the allegations.

They met with the hospital authorities to urge them to take urgent action to repair the roof and protect the patients. They also warned that with the rainy season approaching, the situation could worsen if repairs are not carried out immediately.
