Tura, June 2: A young lawyer who was also the government public prosecutor for South Garo Hills district is the latest victim of COVID-19 in Garo Hills.
36 year old Eubrenal N Marak lost his life to covid and its comorbid conditions while undergoing treatment at Tura civil hospital.
Another two patients of Covid also lost their lives on the same day at the Tura civil hospital. The two victims are 47-year-old woman from Dakopgre area and a 48-year-old woman from Chibra Songma village in Babadam area of Rongram.
The number of active cases has risen to 742 in West Garo Hills District at the end of the day on Wednesday with 88 new cases detected. At the same time, 1012 people have recovered in the district with 36 making recovery on Wednesday.
