Shillong, Dec 7: Meghalaya Health Minister James Sangma on Tuesday informed that the government has spent Rs. 14.4 crore in private hospitals to better equip and prepare them, and the State, in the eventuality of a third Covid-19 wave. Inaugurating the oxygen generator plant at Nazareth Hospital on Tuesday, which has been installed at a cost of Rs. 2,51,00,000, the Minister said the Oxygen plant will be an asset not only for the Nazareth Hospital but for the entire health system of the state.
He also informed that the government is looking forward to collaborations to bring about a transformational change in the healthcare system by equipping hospitals with technologies and infrastructure, and more so to minimize the impact of Covid-19.
