Shillong, Dec 2: To curb the menace of alcohol and substance abuse in the State, especially in the rural areas, the Saving Future Generations (SFG) India, Shillong branch on December 1 organised an awareness programme at Umsawmat Village, Mawphlang.

The main purpose of the Saving Future Generations (SFG) was to go from school to school in giving councelling and awareness programme relating to the consequences of alcohol and drug addiction to school students in the rural areas of the state.

The SFG in Wednesday’s programme distributed food items to 40 underprivileged household. The programme was graced by the local MLA Eugeneson Lyngdoh along with the members of the Self Help Group.
