Dibrugarh, Mar 18: Former Congress leader has expressed his admiration for Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while both shared the dais in the133rd Annual General meeting of Assam Branch Indian Tea Association (ABITA) which was held on Saturday at district planters club in Dibrugarh.
Attending the program Paban Singh Ghatowar said Sarbananda Sonowal is a strong leader and after the election, he will get an important ministrial berth. He also asserted that Sarbananda Sonowal will win the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha.
During a programme he appreciated the contributions of Sarbananda Sonowal and said that he is rest assured that Sonowal will highlight the problems of the tea sector to Prime Minister Modi so that the Centre comes forward and uplifts the tea industry.
Sarbananda Sonowal defeated Paban Singh Ghatowar for the first time from Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat in 2004. He then contested from AGP ticket.
Dibrugarh is set to witness triangular contest between Aam Adami Party candidate Manoj Dhanowar and Assam Jatiya Parisha (AJP) candidate Lurinjyoti Gogoi.
