Guwahati, Apr 3: After a complaint from a female employee stationed at Guwahati International Airport, the Additional Director General of CRPF in the northeast zone has been transferred back to his parent cadre.
The woman, in her complaint, alleged that the officer attempted to hug her against her will.
IPS officer Binod Kumar Singh was transferred back to his cadre on April 2 following the complaint.
The officer’s transfer came after a written complaint was lodged by Chief Airport Officer Utpal Baruah.
“He persistently stared at me, making me uncomfortable. He commented on my smile, teeth, and lips, insisting I take his contact information for future assistance. He even demanded I text him immediately to exchange details. Then, he expressed a desire to hug me, despite my refusal. He then proceeded to forcibly pull me towards him, attempting to hug me tightly. I had to resist and request he cease his inappropriate behavior,” the complaint stated.
Following an apology from the IPS officer during a WhatsApp call facilitated by the Chief Airport Officer, the woman withdrew her complaint.
