Shillong, Aug 10: The Shillong All Faiths Forum (SAFF) celebrated its 4th Foundation Day at a function hosted by the Central Puja Committee (CPC) in the premises of Ramakrishna Mission, Lum Sohra, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Focussing on the theme ‘Respectfully Co-exist’, the Chief Guest of the programme was the Director of Police (DGP), Idashisha Nongrang. Other speakers were SAFF members including Bishop P Lyngdoh, President of SAFF.
The programme was chaired by Naba Bhattacharjee, Vice President SAFF with felicitations to members and founding members courtesy of the Shillong Muslim Union.
Talented participations in forms of songs and dances were received from the Central Puja Committee, Shillong Sikh Youth, Shillong Muslim Union, Unitarian Church, Seiñ Rajj Shillong and some others.
The highlights of speeches and presentations was the call for citizens to strive at respectful co-existence and to maintain peace in normal times in the efforts to promote harmony in society.
The ethos and philosophy of SAFF and humanity as well as mutual respect for each other was the challenge and call of the Keynote message by Rev Dr EH Kharkongor, founder member and former Secretary of SAFF.
