South Garo Hills celebrates Teachers’ Day, felicitates 3 Teachers

Baghmara, Sept 5: Together with the rest of the states,  Baghmara celebrated the 61st Teachers’ Day on Monday at Government Higher Secondary School Premises, Baghmara, South Garo Hills.

The Chief guest of the occasion Rakkam A Sangma, Local MLA, Rongara Siju Constituency, felicitated the District Awardees Harun R Marak, Head Master, Lower Mibonpara Government LP School; Sengrak M Sangma, Head Master of Balkal Asim Deficit UP School; and Samir Kumar Sarkar, Vice Principal, Gasuapara Higher secondary school.

While congratulating the District Awardees, the Chief guest said, “Just as your service have (been a) value to many children in the past, it will be valued in the days to come. And when you retire from your service, you will have a satisfying feelings in yourself, which is of immense importance. Teachers are the guiding force to the society. Your service will determine the future of our generation.”

He urged the teaching fraternity to take their services seriously as the fate of the state will be decided by the quality of the teachers. “In order to take our state forward,  teachers should take the responsibility, only because of you our state will see a difference, the history of our states will change,” he added.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, South Garo Hills District, Dr Challang Marak, DSEO incharge, Preny M Sangma, and others were also present and spoke on the occasion.
