Strange flock of ducks invade Klew village in Meghalaya

Nongpoh, Oct 28: The residents of Klew village in Raid Madan Kyrdan, in Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi District, were startled in the early hours of October 25 by an unusual flock of ducks flying overhead, creating a commotion that drew villagers out of their homes.

According to Lamburom Masharing, the headman of Klew village, the flock of unknown ducks appeared around midnight, producing strange sounds that disturbed the otherwise quiet village. He said the noise was so strange that villagers left their homes to find out the source of the noise, only to be surprized by the sight of these unfamiliar birds circling the village throughout the night.

It was only in the morning (October 26) that a villager managed to capture a few of these unusual ducks. However, Masharing stated that the species of these ducks remains unidentified.

He further informed that as per the rules and regulations of the Dorbar Shnong not to kill any animal or bird, the captured ducks are being safely kept until they can be handed over to the Wildlife Department.
