Agartala, Mar 17: The Tripura police on Sunday arrested three citizens of Myanmar at Agartala railway station as they attempted to board a train to Hyderabad.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Abdul Rashid (24), Md. Yusuf (23), and Md. Hamid (23).
Speaking to reporters, Officer-in-Charge of Agartala GR police station, Tapas Das, stated, “We suspected the movement of three persons, and our team detained them. During interrogation, they admitted to being from Myanmar and entering India through West Bengal. They had returned from Hyderabad and were en route to Bangladesh.”
“We have filed a case against them and produced them before the court under the sections of the IPP Act, Foreigner Act, and IPC. They are Myanmar citizens who arrived in Tripura two days ago from Hyderabad with the intention to travel to Bangladesh. However, due to police vigilance, they were unable to cross the border, and we apprehended them,” Das added.
