Agartala, Feb 4: Tipra Motha released its poll manifesto on Saturday and promise to pass resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the state.
The regional party Tipra Motha is the first party which mentions about resolution against CAA in the state.
CAA issue was an important issue in Northeast, and Tipra Motha from its early stage has demanded scraping of CAA.
The introduction of CAA in the poll manifesto could help Tipra Motha in winning the majority of seats, especially in the tribal seat.
Speaking to reporters, Tipra Motha chief Pradyut Kishore Deb Barma said, “We have taken a mission of 150 days. If we came in power then within five months, our party will promise to fulfil the 15 demands including public grievance redressal, empowerment of TTAADC, land patta allotment, creation of 20,000 new job, village committee election, students credit card schemes.”
“In villages, people are facing problem because in last two years no village council election was held. Within 150 days after we come into power, we will hold village council elections in the state. We are also committed to give free education loans to the students up to 5 lakh for studies. 24-hours health care facilities with ambulance service in villages and cities will be allotted,” he said.
The party has also promised health care facilities, the formation of a village level all women’s task force, and zero action against poverty, hunger, violence and drugs.
Apart from these, Pradyot has made around 22 major promises for rural and tribal areas development, elderly and senior citizen welfare, Law and order issues, industries, education and many other things.
Tripura Motha has been demanding a separate Tipraland for indigenous people of Tripura.
Tripura will go for polls on February 16 and the result will be declared on March 2.
