Shillong, Jan 24: Ahead of the 2023 election, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on Tuesday released its manifesto in which it gave 10 pledges to the people of the State but ignored the Inner Line Permit.
The manifesto was released by the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee at a function Pinewood Shillong.
Banerjee said that these 10 pledges are not promises but pledges. “We have done it in West Bengal, we will do it in Meghalaya,” he said.
On asked why is the long pending demand for the implementation of ILP was ignored in the manifesto of the party, Banerjee said, “We have to take all the stakeholders and their suggestions and consideration with each and every resident of the State and then will come into a conclusion and do what is the best interest of the people of the State.”
The 10 pledges cover health infrastructure which includes upgradation of PHCs, CHCs, improving State’s economy and ensuring a poverty-free Meghalaya, revoke the MoU signed between Assam and Meghalaya, to revamp the power sector, and to improve sectors like education, sports, tourism.
