Guwahati, Dec 4: Renowned journalist from the North Eastern Region – Ratnadip Choudhury, the Bureau Chief of NDTV, was on Sunday awarded the prestigious JAFA Achiever Awards 2022.

He was given the award in the Journalism category.

The award ceremony was held at Hotel Vivanta by Taj, Guwahati on Sunday.

Mentionably, Journalist Association for Assam (JAFA), a leading organisation for working journalists who work with journalists at grassroot level, every year confers awards to prominent people in various categories, mostly to those in the media sector, in recognition of their hard work and impact. Besides media, it also hands out awards to noted personalities in education, youth, entrepreneurship, music, social service, peace initiative, women, medical services, public administration, among others.

Ratnadip hails from Tripura’s capital Agartala and has been a journalist for 17 years. He had in past won several national and international awards and fellowships for his reportage on Northeast India.

Only last week Ratnadip had lost his mother.

Besides Ratnadip, 44 other prominent personalities were conferred the award this year from various fields.
