Shillong, Oct 27: Meghalaya Police along with the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) East Khasi Hills District arrested two residents of Assam from Shillong with a quarter kilograms of heroin in their possession.
The ANTF arrested the duo from a hotel in the city on Wednesday evening; one identified as a 26-year-old from Badarpur, Karimganj, and the other a 31-year-old from Katigorah, Silchar, were picked up from Hotel Serene in GS Road, Shillong.
In total, 250.64g of heroin in 20 soap boxes was found in the duo’s possession. Police also seized two mobile phones, laptop bag and their identity cards. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against them at the Sadar police station.
