Shillong, April 12: Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Home (Police), Prestone Tynsong, on Wednesday held a review meeting with concerned departments to discuss about the G20 Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Shillong on April 17 – 18, 2023.
Tynsong said around 120 delegates are expected to arrive in Shillong and they will be put up at State’s newly opened 5-Star Hotel Marriott. The delegation will be from countries like Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US, and the European Union (EU), besides senior officials and top businessmen from India.
“Meeting was held with concerned departments and we are ready to welcome the delegates of G20,” the Dy CM said.
He informed that beautification, repairing of infrastructure, security and transportation were discussed in detail in the review meeting.
The Dy CM has also instructed the concerned departments to work out the details concerning the vehicular movement to avoid traffic jam.
“Preparations will be done on or before the 15 (of April),” added Tynsong.
