Shillong, June 30: The National People’s Party (NPP) National Vice President and State Deputy CM Prestone Tyngsong on Thursday slammed the AITC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee for his allegations on the NPP-led MDA Government and against the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.

Speaking to reporters, Tyngsong said the statement by Banerjee just shows the ‘immaturity’ and ‘childishness’ of this tall leader of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).

“Being the General Secretary of the AITC, he (Abhishek Banerjee) before making such baseless allegations without any substantial evidence, to any leader of the state especially the Head of the State, he needs to think hundred times,” said Tynsong.

Tynsong further said that the General Secretary of the AITC should come to Shillong more often so the leaders of the state can help him with training on how to make public statements. “It is very unfortunate, but Banerjee need further training on how to go forward to serve the people of our country,” he quipped.

On the allegations by Banerjee about the Assam – Meghalaya Boundary issue, Tynsong said this a long vexed pending issue of the State and Banerjee who just landed in Meghalaya on Wednesday has no right to make inappropriate remarks on such sensitive issues of the State.

“It is sad that the AITC is trying to politicise the boundary issue…11 to 12 meetings were held and a detailed study was done before it led to the signing of the MoU… to make such a statement is totally childish and wrong,” he asserted.
