Guwahati, Sep 3: Hours after a video of a female Muslim doctor from Assam who alleged that she was facing death threats from her family for converting to Hinduism went viral on social media, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma sharing the video on X, ordered an inquiry into the matter and asked officials to take proper action as per law.
According to reports, she had voluntarily converted to Hinduism.
In the video, the woman alleged that she is facing death threats from her family and is being forced to marry a Maulavi.

She also introduced herself as Dr Alima Akhtar, a Muslim doctor from Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh (AMCH Dirugarh).
The woman shared the video on social media from an airport and informed that she is making the video of herself in the form of a statement. She also said that she is safe. She can also be heard saying that her family has filed a false complaint of her being kidnapped so that they can reach out to her and hand her over to her family.

The woman can also be heard asking for help from the Assam Police to take cognizance of the matter and take proper action in connection with it.
